EMPOWERING NIGERIAN WOMEN THROUGH KNOWLEDGE AND EARLY DISEASE DETECTION
Learn. Understand. Detect Early.
Our Vision
A Nigeria where every woman regardless of background understands her body, feels confident speaking about her health, and can access early care without stigma or confusion.
Our Mission
To empower Nigerian women with clear, trusted health information that enables them to have an early detection of gynecological disorders and lifelong wellbeing.
To expand our learning and experiences to global resource constrained locations where 50% of women live but cannot afford gynecological care, unless it is provided by specialists from a similar economy.
Why we created NaijaFem
Many women experience symptoms for years without answers. Reproductive health conversations are often quiet, delayed, or dismissed and that silence has consequences.
-
20% of women live with undetected, undiagnosed and untreated gynecological disorders.
-
Women in cities are 3x more likely to access screening than those in rural communities.
-
65% of diagnoses happen late, when treatment is harder and outcomes are poorer
NaijaFem exists to change that through education, clarity, and community support.
NaijaFem: self sustainable female health
NaijaFem offers diary assessment and virtual consultation services that you can choose to use.. or not. When you submit your diary your symptoms are assessed integrating an Ob/Gyn nurses expertise and a digital clinical decision support system that empowers the nurse to be able to detect the disease easier and quicker, with the objective the woman then goes for an ultrasound scan and with the complete package of diary assessment and medical images have a more accurate, better healthcare interaction with her doctor.
The aim is to detect the disease as early as possible, make the doctors life easier and enable the large number of women who need care but are without healthcare support obtain higher quality lower cost care that reduces the burden of the disease.
We have aimed to keep the costs as affordable as possible for all women; what happens with your payment?
-
A small amount goes for the payment of the IT infrastructure and systems we use
-
A small amount goes for the coordination of NaijaFem
-
The great majority is used to pay as many Ob/Gyn nurses as possible as well as possible to keep them employed by provision of care, and to increase their number
